Warrior Hockey Academy, inspired by The Malone Family Foundation’s Warrior Wellness Camp in 2023, is a signature program of the foundation. The goal of the Academy is to change lives through the healing power of hockey – empowering our participants to thrive through mind, body and soul training. Local Veterans, active-duty military and first responders are invited to join the one-day academy, at no cost, for on-ice and off-ice sessions led by the Malone family and NHL alumni. Sessions have focused on skill development, mindfulness training, nutrition guidance, jiu-jitsu, yoga, stickhandling and more – ultimately fueling camaraderie and strengthening mental health through the game the Malone family loves the most.

The first-ever Warrior Hockey Academy was held in Minnesota at the National Sports Center in collaboration with the Hendrickson Foundation in May 2024. To date, additional Academies have been hosted in Pittsburgh (Robert Morris University’s Island Sports Complex) and Tampa (Amalie Arena). Plans are underway to bring the Academy from coast to coast to support our Nation’s bravest and all unsung heroes.
