A Pittsburgh native who has called Erie home for the past two decades, Jason Fowler is a dedicated medical professional, entrepreneur, and community leader with a lifelong connection to the game of hockey. As a Physician Assistant and the Assistant Medical Director for Urgent Care Associates of Erie, Jason brings compassion and commitment to his work in healthcare while balancing a deep passion for sports, youth development, and charitable initiatives.

In addition to his medical career, Jason has spent more than a decade helping to shape the youth hockey landscape in northwest Pennsylvania. Through his leadership roles on the board of Erie Youth Hockey and Cathedral Prep Hockey, he has championed opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels. He is also the owner of Lake Effect Hockey, where he

organizes youth tournaments, hockey camps, and charity events – including the Sarah Backstrom Memorial Tournament, one of the largest all-girls tournaments in the country.

Jason also serves on the Board of Directors for the Uncommon Grit Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting Veterans and First Responders. His work with Uncommon Grit and Lake Effect Hockey aligns closely with the Malone Family Foundation’s mission, particularly through their support of both Black & Gold Breaking the Mold and the Warrior Hockey Academy program. His efforts continue to use the power of hockey to provide purpose, healing, and opportunity for those who serve.
