Senior Associate Athletic Director for Philanthropy, Kent State University

TJ Brown serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Philanthropy at Kent State University. There he leads major and principal gift strategy, managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors while overseeing a team focused on advancing athletics philanthropy. As a member of the Athletics Executive Leadership Team, he partners closely with university and athletics leadership to drive donor engagement, elevate philanthropic priorities, and generate transformational support for the student-athlete experience.

Previously, TJ spent over a decade at Robert Morris University, most recently as Senior Associate Athletic Director – Chief Revenue Officer, leading the development and execution of strategies to maximize all athletic department revenue streams. He oversaw fundraising, corporate partnerships, ticket sales, and collaborated closely with marketing, fan experience, and media relations to drive efficiency and growth across units.

In addition to his revenue responsibilities, TJ served as the sport administrator for RMU’s NCAA Division I men’s and women’s ice hockey programs, ensuring student-athletes thrived both on and off the ice. He also played a key role in advancing RMU’s presence in the Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) space, creating innovative opportunities for athletes to engage with the broader community.

With a proven record of leadership and growth, as a board member of The Malone Family Foundation, he brings his expertise, passion for sports, and dedication to philanthropy and advancing lives through athletics to support the foundation’s mission.
