The Malone Family Foundation proudly hosted the 2nd annual Black & Gold Breaking the Mold as part of Mental Health Awareness Month and MTV’s worldwide Mental Health Action Day in May. The event, presented by Tomahawk Charitable Solutions, was highlighted by an open conversation about mental health with Ryan Malone and NHL guests. Veterans, first responders and local celebrities were also be in attendance for the reception, which featured light appetizers, music and an auction presented by 84 Lumber – – all in support of The Malone Family Foundation’s mission.

Black & Gold Breaking the Mold continued with the Hero & Celebrity Hockey Game on May 16 at the RMU Island Sports Complex. Those participating in the game included current + former NHL players, members of our Veteran and first responder communities, local celebrities, and mental health advocates. The game shined a light on the healing power of hockey and our need to take positive action daily on our mental health journeys. Prior to the game, the family-friendly Mental Health Rally, hosted by YaJagoff and presented by Mancini’s Bakery, shared mental wellness resources, as well as information related to MTV’s A.S.K. initiative, which encourages us all to Acknowledge, Support and Keep in Touch with one another. PLUS, our celebrities made a special appearance to connect with YOU – – our community of mental health advocates.
