The Malone Family Foundation, in collaboration with Aurelius 520, hosted the inaugural Warrior Wellness Camp, a one-day hockey skills and wellness camp on June 24, 2023 at the renowned UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Fifty Veterans and active duty military members from the Pittsburgh Warriors, Johnstown Generals and It’s About the Warrior Foundation participated in this event that aimed to use the great game of hockey as a healing mechanism.
The camp, offered at no cost, provided an opportunity for participants to enhance their hockey skills and overall well-being under the guidance of Pittsburgh Penguins Alumni, the Malone family and the team at Aurelius 520. Beyond the rink, off-ice sessions were designed to educate participants on how to implement mind, body and soul practices into their everyday routines.
Due to the profound impact of the Warrior Wellness Camp in 2023 and the camaraderie shared amongst participants, the event is set to return in the summer of 2024.
